PRESS RELEASE · Ho Chi Minh City, 20 October 2026 · For immediate release

GAM Esports has been selected as a partner team for the 2027 VALORANT Champions Tour (2027 VCT) season as a representative of Vietnam. Vietnamese VALORANT fans now have a home team at the top level of the sport, and Vietnam has a seat at the table with the biggest esports nations in the world.

For years, Vietnamese fans stayed up late to cheer for teams from somewhere else. From 2027, they have their own.

"When we acquired GAM in 2021, our vision was to build something Vietnam could be proud of and represent on the world stage. We've proven what Vietnamese talent can achieve through League of Legends. Now VALORANT gives us another chance to raise the standard, reach a new generation of fans, and keep building the movement. Vietnam has the talent, the passion and the community to compete with the best in the world. Our job is to give that talent the platform, the support and the belief to go further. We're building for the next generation, and we're just getting started. It's GAM TIME!"

A seat with Vietnam's name on it

This seat is bigger than one club. It carries Vietnam's name onto the VCT map, next to Korea, Japan, China, Europe and the Americas. Every Vietnamese player grinding ranked tonight now has a clear road to the top level, and every Vietnamese fan has a team to wear on their sleeve.

"Southeast Asia's rising billion deserves a movement of its own, and it starts with Vietnam. This seat carries Vietnam's name, but it belongs to every player grinding ranked in a net cafe and every fan who believed Vietnam would one day be on this stage. GAM started in a net cafe too. We know what this means."

Vietnam has around 54 million gamers, including 28.2 million esports participants (VIRESA). From 2027, Vietnam also has its own Regional Competition inside VCT Pacific, one of six alongside Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and a Wild Card pool. Vietnamese teams now have a clear road from home to the VCT Cups, and on to Masters and Champions.

The stage Vietnam is aiming for

The selection comes just days after the 2026 VALORANT Champions grand final in Shanghai. Champions ran from 24 September to 18 October, and its finals weekend was played at the 18,000-capacity Mercedes-Benz Arena. That is the level Vietnamese VALORANT is now aiming for.

Every spot is earned

From 2027, the VCT moves to an open format. Partner teams receive direct entry to Kickoff, the first event of the season, where the top three teams in each region qualify for Masters. After that, every team has to earn its spot, Cup by Cup.

"Nothing in the 2027 format is handed to you, and that suits us. In League of Legends, GAM was overlooked before it was undeniable. We reached MSI, Worlds and the Esports World Cup by earning it, one event at a time. VALORANT will be no different."

It's GAM TIME!

Every GAM fan knows these three words. "It's GAM TIME!" was first shouted in the locker room at the 2022 World Championship, right after GAM beat TOP Esports in New York, and it has followed the team to every stage since. In 2027, it comes to VALORANT.

GAM VALORANT will announce its roster, coaching staff and plans for the 2027 season soon. Follow along on GAM's channels and here on gam.gg.
