Grand finalists in our first season: GAM's Queens finish runner-up at Queens of Glory Winter 2026

Đọc bằng tiếng Việt: Á quân ngay mùa giải đầu tiên

Runner-up at Queens of Glory Winter 2026. Our Queens on the stage at VPS Arena, Ho Chi Minh City.

Three weeks ago, GAM Esports had never fielded a women's team. Yesterday, our Queens played in a grand final.

On Sunday, November 1, GAM Esports AOV - Women's finished runner-up at Queens of Glory Winter 2026, Garena's professional women's Arena of Valor league in Vietnam. They lost a best-of-seven final 2-4 to One Star Esports, after beating the reigning Spring champions, Saigon Phantom, the same afternoon.

I could not be prouder of this team. Let me tell you how they got there.

From announcement to grand final in three weeks

When we introduced the team on October 11, it was six players and a coach who had only just started training together. Three of them, HaNgocc, Cosy and MinhNhi, had played together at Savage Divas. The other three, LiyeThao, LyLy and WeiLiu, were new teammates. Coach Hwan had a few weeks to turn them into one team.

Eight teams entered Queens of Glory Winter. Five came in as Arena of Glory partner clubs, three through qualifiers. For GAM, it was the first season ever.

The run

Group stage (October 19 to 22). Our first official match ended in a 2-0 win over Team Secret Dino, with Cosy as Player of the Match. One Star beat us 3-0 in the group winners' match, and the girls had to win a decider to stay alive. They did, 3-1 over Team Secret Dino again, with MinhNhi as Player of the Match. GAM was through to the playoffs.

Upper bracket semifinal (October 30). GAM 3, Five Dragon Princesses 1. HaNgocc was Player of the Match.

Upper bracket final (October 31). One Star Esports 3, GAM 0. A second loss to One Star, and a drop to the lower bracket.

Lower bracket final (November 1). This is the one I will remember. Our Queens faced Saigon Phantom, the team that won Queens of Glory Spring 2026. GAM won 3-1, and our captain Cosy was Player of the Match.

Grand final (November 1, best of seven). A few hours later, the girls were back on stage against One Star for the third time. The past two times we went up against One Star, they beat us 0-3. This time, our girls took two games. One Star won the series 4-2 and the title, but going from 0-3 twice to two games in a grand final is definitely progress.

Walk-out, game time, and a little fun before the first draft.

Two awards for the rookies

Two of our players were also recognised in the season awards:

• LiyeThao: New Slayer
• HaNgocc: Style Slayer

Congratulations, One Star

Congratulations to One Star Esports on the Winter title. They beat us three times this season and earned every game. Thank you for setting the bar. We'll be back to chase it.

GAM AOV Queens: runner-up, Queens of Glory Winter 2026.

What this run means

I said at the launch that the goal doesn't change because the team is new: compete for the crown and win the hearts of the fans. In three weeks, this team went from a group stage decider to a grand final, and beat the Spring champions on the way.

It also proves what we believed when we built this division. Vietnam has women who play this game at the highest level. Give them a coach, a jersey, a league and a club that believes in them, and they will show you.

Thank you to Garena and the Queens of Glory team for building this stage, and to everyone at VPS Arena who cheered our girls on. Thank you, #GAMFAM, for the comments, the streams and the 👑 in every match thread. The girls saw them.

What the #GAMFAM said

The night of the final, the comments on our Facebook post filled up fast. The most-liked one asked for a new trophy:

"Give them the King of Resilience award. A ten-game final, and the games we thought were lost, they still held."

Plenty of you agreed. Another fan put it this way:

"Today GAM played relaxed, and I loved it. No pressure about the result, just enjoying the match and giving everything for the jersey and the fans. We might lose to them again, but if we give everything, there's nothing to regret."

And one more, short and true: "Beating Saigon Phantom is already a success."

That is exactly the spirit we want this team to play with. Thank you for seeing it.

To our #GAMGIRLS

From the start, I've called this team our GAM girls. Cosy, HaNgocc, MinhNhi, LiyeThao, LyLy, WeiLiu and Coach Hwan: I'm so proud of you.

I know it wasn't easy. You came together only weeks before the season, you lost to One Star twice, and you had to win elimination matches to keep going. You kept getting back up, and you made history for GAM with our first podium in women's esports.

You've done an amazing job of representing GAM, and of showing what Vietnamese women can do in this game. This is just the beginning.
